PaedVault is an independent, privately produced revision resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), which sets and administers the MRCPCH examinations. The RCPCH does not review, approve, or vouch for the accuracy of any Content on PaedVault. “MRCPCH” and related names are used descriptively, to identify the examinations this product helps candidates prepare for, and not to imply endorsement.

2. Reconstructed content

The MRCPCH examinations are confidential; the RCPCH does not publish past papers. Past-paper questions on PaedVault are reconstructed from candidate recollections after the fact, then rewritten and clinically reviewed against current UK guidance and standard paediatric references (including Nelson Textbook of Pediatrics). This means:

  • The clinical scenario, reasoning, and correct answer are intended to be faithful to the real examination as recalled by candidates and verified against current evidence.
  • The exact wording of a reconstructed question is not guaranteed to match the wording used in the real examination.
  • Every past-paper question carries a provenance and verification status; we continue to review and update items as clinical guidance changes.

3. Not medical advice

Content on PaedVault — including questions, explanations, and study notes — is produced for examination revision purposes only. It is not medical advice and must not be used to guide the care of any patient. Clinical practice should always be based on current local guidelines, your clinical judgement, and supervision appropriate to your level of training.

4. No guarantee of examination success

We work to keep Content accurate and current, but paediatric guidance changes, and no revision resource can guarantee a particular examination outcome. Pass marks shown in session summaries are indicative benchmarks set by PaedVault, not the RCPCH's published standard for any specific sitting — the RCPCH alone sets and applies the pass standard for each diet of the examination.

If you believe a question, answer, or explanation is incorrect, unclear, or based on outdated guidance, please use the “Report issue” button available on every question. Reports are reviewed by our clinical editorial process.
